About Me
If, I ever found
A wishing carpet lying around,
I'd stand upon it and I'd say:
"Take me to his side, right away!"
And then we'd travel very far
To where the magic countries are
That you and I will never see
And choose the loveliest gifts for you, from me.
Well, as I was watching Inuyasha last night, I came across this advertisement for Channel U Superstar and they showed clips of some of the contestants. There was this part where one of the judges told this girl, "You look like a celebrity.." and the girl was like, "Really ? Who ?" And guess what the answer was ? "Ruhua." No, I do not think it is funny. Ironically, I think it was fuggin' mean.
I mean, hello ! You did not have to put her down like that. It was sucha insult and what was worse was that it was shown on national TV. How about if I say you look like Abigail ? I bet you would cry and your self esteem would go down. But no, I am not going to say it cos 1) I won't want to put you down like that. 2) It is an insult to Abigail too. I mean, yes, she may be not pleasant to look at, but Abigail is comfortable with who she is and what she is. She doesn't stay at home and mope around and refuses to come out just because of her looks. She has confidence and she doesn't mind what people think and say of her. I think we should all give her a round of applause. Same goes to Ruhua.
To me, the judge was really mean. These people who went for the competition, we should accolade them too. They are brave enough to go forth and they are confident about themselves. Why should you put them down, you good-for-nothing judge. You should encourage them ! But if they really don't meet the standard, you could tell them nicely. But insulting them and putting them down with words like this ? Well, I really am ashamed of you.
This poor girl, who should initially have been applauded for being brave enough to join the competition will now have to face the taunts of strangers and maybe some friends who cannot resist a joke. Yes, a joke is afterall a joke. But you people would now know how hurtful it is. She may smile, laugh and shrug it off but we are all humans at the end of the day. We feel hurt.
